Our Story

Dr. Yu Yanqiu, Ph.D. M.D. is a scientific founder of Shenyang Cell Center and is the Company’s President. She is also a Professor of Pathophysiology and Cellular Therapy at China Medical University (CMU), Scientific Director of the pathopysiology department at CMU, and vice Director of Government Scientific Committee for Stem Cells and Immunotherapies at Liaoning Province, China. Dr. Yu Yanqiu received her Ph.D. and M.D. at China Medical University, completing her clinical training at the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University. She completed her stem cell studies at University of Cologne as a visiting scholar and a member of the EU FP6-funded FunGenES program in 2003-04. She studied stem cell banking and cellular therapy at University of Tokyo as a senior visiting scholar in 2005.

Since 1992, Professor Yu has been dedicated to stem cell research. She established the first stem cell research center at CMU in 2005. Then, she worked with Chinese clinical teams on cell therapy research in tumor, trauma repair, osteoarthritis, plastic surgery, diabetes,  cardiovascular diseases, and cerebrovascular diseases. In 2016, Professor Yu founded Shenyang Engineering Technology R&D Center of Cell Therapy (Shenyang Cell Center/SYCC).
